Winners crowned at "Your Song of Excellence" Season 2 singing competition

Grand Finalists savoring their winning moment

It was an extremely tough singing competition but after the dusk of the musical battle had settled, the Top 3 winners were announced at the conclusion of "Your Song of Excellence" Season 2 Grand Finals, streamed live on October 31, 2022.

The grand finals of "Your Song of Excellence" Season 2 was one of the most exciting yet most challenging singing competitions. But at the end of each spectacular performance of the grand finalists, only three emerged victorious.

For the "Ballad" (#HeartsAtHome) category, crooner Redemptor Nuestro emerged as the Grand Champion in that category, and bested other grand finalists Rachell Laylo and Easter Joy Parsacala, who wound up as First Runner Up and Second Runner Up, respectively.

Meanwhile, for the "Acoustic" (#FreshVibes) category, it was Izay Acoustic who took home the crown, while Jaworski Sison was declared First Runner Up, followed by Kirby Cruz won Second Runner Up honors.

Finally, Vic Robinson truly rocked it out and displayed true rock spirit, and was eventually crowned grand champion under the "Rock" (#EpicRock) category of "Your Song of Excellence" Season 2. Genriel Diaz took First Runner Up honors, while Anne Ferrer wound up as Second Runner Up.

All grand finalists did their best to impress the judges, where the criteria for judging were 35 percent for Voice Quality, 35 percent for Creativity, 20 percent for Stage Presence, and 10 percent for Online Votes.

Special awards were also handed out to some of the grand finalists. "Acoustic" category grand champion Izay Acoustic was also awarded as "Asus Incredible Performer," while "Rock" category First Runner Up Genriel Diaz won the "Predator Conquering Performance of the Night" award. For the last special award, "Ballad" category First Runner Up Rachell Laylo was adjudged as winner of the "Aromase Aromazin’ Performer" award.

The "Your Song of Excellence" Season 2 grand finals were also made special with the presence of VIP guests and representatives from the competition’s brand partners. Present were Taiwan Trade Center Manila Director Alex Lai, Christine Kuo, Manager, and Janine Tan, Senior Project Manager.

Also gracing the grand finals were James Huang, Country Product Manager of Asus, Sue Ong-Lim, General Manager of Acer, Jesse Tan, Vice President for Sales and Marketing at PC Express, who also represented Aromase, and Pola Vinoya, Publishing and Marketing Officer, and Aaron Calderon, Marketing Specialist, both from Ivory Music.

It was a night worth remembering, and many are still hoping for another season of "Your Song of Excellence," which is slowly turning out to be one of the most anticipated singing competitions in the country.

Make no mistake about it. The tough preliminary is over and done with, same with the tougher semifinals stage.

Now, the remaining contestants will experience the toughest part of the competition that will beat all the other stages as “Your Song of Excellence” Season 2 enters the Grand Finals, the pinnacle of the competition. Here, the best among the best will be crowned the “Your Song of Excellence” Season 2 grand winner.

And from the thousands of auditionees and the 30 semi-finalists who battled it out to know who would march through to the grand finals, only nine contestants (or three grand finalists for each category, whether Ballad, Acoustic, or Rock) remain.

The Top 3 Grand Finalists for "Your Song of Excellence" Season 2 under the "Ballad" (#HeartsAtHome) category are:

Each of the grand finalists will go for the throat to determine who among them is the best in their respective categories. And their battles are made even more arduous with more stringent judging criteria. Each contestant will be judged based on Voice Quality at 35%, Creativity also at 35%, and Stage Presence at 20%. Netizens will also have a say in the judging as 10% of the grand finalists’ scores will come from Online Votes.

After the rigorous judging, only 1 grand finalist for each category will remain standing and will be declared grand champion for their category in this year’s "Your Song of Excellence" Season 2.

So, remember the date: October 31, 2022, which is just a few days away when the Grand Finals of "Your Song of Excellence" Season 2 will be streamed live and the grand champions for each of the categories will be known. The grand champion from each category will win P50,000 worth of cash and products plus a major recording deal with Ivory Music, one of the country’s biggest independent record labels. The 2nd and 3rd Runners Up for each of the categories won’t go home empty-handed for they will win P30,000 and P15,000, respectively.

AFTER weeks of choosing from hundreds of singing hopefuls who will make it to the next round of the virtual singing competition "Your Song of Excellence" Season 2, the dream of becoming the competition’s next grand winner becomes even closer.

The "Your Song of Excellence" Season 2 semi-finals stage, however, is no walk in the park so expect the semis stage of the competition to become harder and tougher as the judges choose the best among the best. The grind-out semis will most certainly bring out the finest in each of the hopefuls as they all try to get closer to the pinnacle of the competition: the Grand Finals!

But first, they have to hurdle the semis phase in their respective categories, whether Ballad, Acoustic, or Rock.

For the semi-finals, the tough criteria for judging is 60 percent of total judges’ scores, with 40 percent coming from online voting.

The #HeartsAtHome semi-finals episode will premiere on September 11, 2022, and the deadline for voting will be on September 16, 2022. The names of the grand finalists for the Ballad category will be announced on September 20, 2022.

This will be followed by the #FreshVibes or Acoustic category semi-finals, happening on September 21, 2022, while the deadline for voting is on September 26, 2022. The names of the Top 3 grand finalists will be announced on September 30, 2022.

Finally, the #EpicRock or Rock category semi-finals will be shown on October 1, 2022, with a deadline for voting on October 6, 2022. Those who will go to the Grand Finals will be known on October 10, 2022.

And then, the much-awaited Grand Finals for “Your Song of Excellence” Season 2 will happen on October 30, 2022. It will be a slam-bang musical fest among the best of Filipino musical talent that everyone should not miss.

A whopping P1,000,000.00 worth of cash and products combined await winners in all categories, plus, a major recording deal with Ivory Music, one of the biggest independent record labels in the country, to help jumpstart the winners’ recording career.

Empowering through Education project to be launched in Cebu

The empowerment of the out-of-school youth in the Philippines got a shot in the arm with the conceptualization of an innovative mobile classroom project in Cebu.

The project called the "Mobile KART Project" and proposed by SEED4COM got a further boost after it was declared as one of the Top Three winners at the "Taiwan Excellence: Sharing is Caring" philanthropic campaign that started last year. Winning the campaign means the opportunity to create more mobile classrooms that will benefit more out-of-school youth in many other areas in Cebu.

The aim was noble: to assist Cebu’s youth, particularly from poor and marginalized families, and provide them with free access to education with diverse and free-of-charge training courses that will hopefully educate them even in the midst of a debilitating pandemic.

The project will be officially inaugurated and launched on October 2022 at several locations in Cebu City such as Lapu-Lapu City, Cordoba, and Olango Island, among others. It would become doubly significant since the launch will coincide with the holding of the annual Taiwan-Philippines Joint Economic Conference.

The innovative and creative Mobile KART is not just any mobile classroom. It comes equipped with solar panels, laptops, an LED TV display, an audio system, and even routers for mobile internet connectivity, and all are Taiwan Excellence Award-winning products.

The Mobile KART Project offers courses such as "Transformative Educational Access for the Communities and Homes" and also "Technology Vocational Livelihood Skills Training." These courses are meant to teach the poor youth in Cebu’s poverty-stricken areas with valuable life skills, particularly the benefits of reading. Hopefully, the skills will equip them with the knowledge they can use to improve their livelihood or pursue higher education when given the opportunity.

The "Mobile KART Project" is a mobile classroom that originated in Cebu and was part of several initiatives related to education by Sustainable Energy and Enterprise Development for Communities (https://www.seed4com.org/). The organization was established to help improve human conditions and empower poverty-stricken areas and rural and last-mile communities in the Philippines.

Truly, the "Mobile KART Project" winning at the "Taiwan Excellence: Sharing is Caring" was a proud moment not just for SEED4COM but also for the country, according to Dann Diez, Executive Director of SEED4COM, considering the huge number of entries.

Organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the vision of "Taiwan Excellence: Sharing is Caring" was to help make society a better place by giving everyone an opportunity to raise ideas about charity and other altruistic activities related to the sustainable development of society and environmental protection by utilizing products of Taiwan Excellence.
