Gamecon Philippines is Set on July 8 and 9, 2017


More than 1,000 guests are expected to attend the 1st Gamecon Philippines, a 2-day gaming convention and competition happening on July 8 and 9, 2017 at the Megatrade Hall 2, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.

"We want Gamecon Philippines to be a platform where families of all ages can come together and experience different types of games and play under one roof", said Elaine Cedillo, the Co-Founder of Redwizard Events Management and the lead project head of the said event. "Also we want us to be platform where different gaming communities come together and share their passion."

Gamecon Philippines will have a Game Art Competition that is open to all students and professionals, who would like to join using traditional or digital medium. The winners will get cash and a Huion Tablet from American Technologies Inc.

There will also be different board games, table top and card games around. Cedillo said that you can just hang out and play all weekend. Every area has its own feel and play especially if you watch the preliminary tournament and championship of X-wing miniature game. It is a tactical ship-to-ship combat game in which players take control of powerful Rebel X-wings. It recreates exciting Star Wars Space.

Gamecon will also have a Cosplay Competition that is open to 2 to 3 members of a family. It can be siblings, parent and a child, cousins or even husband and wife. Just get ready to wear your favorite game characters on Sunday, July 9 and you can win up to P10,000.00 cash and gift items.

While all Mobile Legends fanatics can also enjoy the 2-day Mobile Legends competition. It is estimated to have more than 100 participants per day. If you want to join, be there early so you can have your team listed down and compete and be crowned to be the best Mobile Legends Team.

ESGS Indie Arena will also be showcasing the different PC, Console and mobile games that is proudly created by Filipinos. You can test it as you play and enjoy the entire experience.

While one of the highlights is the RoboRumble, a lightweight robot combat with participants from High school students up to professionals, so if you are a fan of Battle Bots or you just simply loves robotics, this is an interesting match to watch!

There will also be Game Development Workshop and Plenary on July 7, 2017 from 9:00am to 6:00pm at the Megatrade Conference Rooms A to C, 5/F SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City. They will be featuring some of the country’s top game designers and producers with the likes of Derrick Mapagu of Flippy Bottle which became a global hit mobile game that attained the Top 1 rank in Google Play in more than 16 countries, including Austria, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and the UK.
