What a Lucky Guy!? 2

Okay, from my previous post, I narrated how lucky I was when I missed that out of control vehicle. Now, God again demonstrated how he protects His people. You see, I was saved again by the Lord from a snatcher. You see, I was riding this jeep to Alabang, the jeep stopped at Jollibee Pilar branch to pick up passengers. I was going to San Pedro to attend Kuchi's 26th birthday celebration (thank you Jenny for letting me know that it will be held on a Saturday, your timing was perfect, I just woke up when you sent your message) and at around 9:40 PM that Saturday night, August 29, 2009 while I was playing a game on my PSP to kill time while on my way to Alabang when the third lady from my left shouted. I thought that it was nothing but when I checked my left, I saw a guy running away from the jeep and heard the passengers talking about her cellphone. Poor lady! We was a victim of a snatcher. It could have been me but God protected me. Again.

Just a word of advise, keep your cellphones in your bags or pockets. I've learned my lesson now. I suggest all of you do the same.

God's Perfect Timing

God really makes perfect timing. 2 weeks ago, the battery of my cellphone got busted, I overcharged it and the battery won't work leaving me "lost" this past 2 weeks. I also made a request to have my old ATM replaced through the company's ER and it got me waiting 2 weeks for my "generic" cash card. This is where God's perfect timing happens. I was considering on having a new cellphone as a replacement for my old one (a china phone, I'm done with that, not only the parts are hard to find, it will eventually cost you in the long run) and I don't want to borrow money. Now my cash card will not be back in 2 weeks, I only have pocket money for one week and I feel that I'm one of the the unluckiest persons in the world at that time. I said to myself, "had I've known that ER would accidentally request for a personalized cash card, I would have withdrawn all of my money before I requested a replacement." When God is working in the background, good things happen. I was told by a co-employee that generic cash cards can only hold a maximum of 10,000 pesos at a given time, any excess would be added in your credit once you withdrawn some. I was surprised that I managed to make the necessary adjustments and made it possible to extend a one-week budget in a two-week budget. Most importantly, I did not have to go on credit.

By the time that I get my cash card, I might be able to actually purchase a brand new phone. With the money left and my semi-monthly salary, I might be able to do so. I'm crossing my fingers.

Season is Over

Our Annual Sports fest season is over for this year. We have played our last elimination round game this afternoon and I am not happy with the result. You know what I mean, we are again on the losing end. We played a total of 4 games and lost them all, out of the four games, one game was lost by 20++ points but the other three were "winnable" games. Lost by 4 on opening day on OT, lost by 1 on the second game on OT (we had back to back games on one play date, the other being the blowout I mentioned earlier) and lost by 2 today. Nevertheless disappointed as I may be, I am still proud because we have had "winnable" games and could go on either way. Had we won this afternoon, we are the ones who will be playing in the knockout games next week since we are 5 teams only. I guess we have not really jelled as one unit after of two months (every Sundays only due to work schedule - not all were present every Sunday's and I'm proud to be one of the few who completed the whole training camp). We'll, better luck next year. Looking for more scrimmages to have more preparation. Hoping to keep the core of the team intact for next year's event.

What a Lucky Guy!?

August 18, 2009 around 8:50 - 9:00 PM, while waiting for a ride to work, I was feeling weird. The first jeep has passed, I did not take the ride. I rode the second jeep that came by. After a few seconds, an out of control car ran down an unlucky pedestrian and ended right where I was standing before I rode the jeep. I felt very lucky for if I had decided to wait for another jeep, I could be on the receiving end of that out of control jeep, worse, I could be dead. I am so thankful to the Lord. Coincidence? I don't think so, GOD has saved my life many times already. I am not a churchgoer but surely I am a believer.
